Method
Prep and preheat
- Preheat oven to 350F and grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and all spices plus salt until evenly combined.
Mix the batter
- Whisk pumpkin puree, both sugars, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla, and molasses until smooth.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, then pour into the loaf pan.
Bake and finish
- Bake for 60-65 minutes at 350F until the loaf is done.
- Cool completely before serving, then drizzle with the brown butter glaze.
Notes
Brown the butter for the glaze just until nutty and fragrant, then let it cool slightly so the powdered sugar won’t seize. Store the fully cooled loaf tightly wrapped in the fridge for up to 4 days or at room temperature for up to 2 days; freeze sliced portions for up to 2 months. For a lower-sugar version, reduce granulated and brown sugar by about 1/4 cup total and add 1 tbsp extra molasses to keep the spice-forward flavor profile.
